Overcoming Depression

Depression defined in my own way as a state of emptiness in the mind. When one is empty he or she is worthless and useless. However it is good to know that no human is empty or useless. Unfortunately depression has become the order of the day. I can say the whole world is depressed. Then how can we stop depression? Here are some key to overcoming depression:

Be careful of what you say

What you say to people matters a lot, the human mind is designed to adapt to what ever is giving to it. So wrong words spoken to someone can go a long way to affect his or her life. Let me ask you this have you ever be complemented on how you look? How did you feel? Also have negative things be said to you about your look? How did you feel? I have come to discovered that the mind tend to retain negative words than positive. I went out few days ago everyone was complementing my look even my curves but one bus conductor said negative thing about my curves. That was a deformity that is not pronounced but he saw it and use it against me, i tell you that single word spilt all the good compliment i received that day. I came home thinking almost asking God why, the hole of my thought now is how to correct a minor deformity. Why did i share this? Because i want you to understand how words spoken to someone can be a tool of destruction or celebration. So mindful of the words you say to someone.

Be mindful of what you hear

So long we are on the surface of the earth we must interact with people and words can be spoken which might not be heady. Should we then avoid interaction obviously no. But you can choose to hear good words or bad ones. You we agree with me that everyone wants to be loved even by words, so there is no point in staying too long in a place where unhealthy words are spoken to you. You can definitely choose what you hear, read and listen to because they have a long way to affect someone.

Choose what you hear


Some persons will spend the whole of their lifetime reading meanings to what what said to them. That is usually dangerous. Learn to push words away by discipline your heart not to think about them at all. You can dwell more on all the good words you hear.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a problem in this present days, many has not come to understand that the first thing no matter what happens is that you must forgive yourself, if you cant forgive yourself you can never forgive other people completely. When you forgive yourself it gives you the opportunity to love yourself and when you love yourself your worth and value becomes visible. Therefore there will be no room for evil thought that can lead to depression.
